Brief Bio
David Aveiro is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering at the University of Madeira (UMa) in Portugal. His research interests include enterprise engineering and digital innovation. He teaches subjects in undergraduate and master degrees in informatics engineering in the areas of enterprise engineering, information systems, database management systems and decision support systems. David holds a Master's and Doctor's degree in Informatics Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon and coordinates several European and national funded research and digital innovation projects, both at the University of Madeira and at the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI). ... Brief Bio
Jesualdo Tomás Fernández-Breis is a Professor at the Faculty of Computer Sciene at the University of Murcia in Spain. His research interests include the semantic interoperability of biomedical and industrial data, and how large language models can contribute to improve knowledge engineering activities. He teaches subjects in undergraduate and master degrees in the areas of computer science and bioinformatics. He is participating and coordinating semantic interoperability national and international research projects, as well as industrial collaborations with international companies. He has published over 80 articles in journals with impact factor. He is the co-founder of the spin-off Longseq Applications. Biography Jesualdo Tomás Fernández Breis received a BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Murcia in 1997, and a MSc degree in Computer Engineering from the same university in 1999. He obtained a European PhD degree in Computer Engineering in 2003 from the University of Murcia, which was possible thanks to a PhD Scholarship from the Seneca Foundation. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics and Systems, which he joined in 2003. He is currently serving as Vicedean of the School of Computer Science at the University of Murcia (Spain). Some of his responsabilities are the International Exchange Programmes and the Industrial Placements of our students. His research in eLearning addresses different issues related to Semantic Web-based student assessment. On the one hand, the OeLE project attempts to evaluate automatically open questions written in natural language and using Semantic Web technologies to rank individuals in groups work and promoting self-assessment and autonomous learning. On the other hand, the Semantic Educative Curriculum project attempts to facilitate the management of the educative curriculum by using Semantic Web technologies and accomplishing standard quality criteria ...
