Brief Bio
Jorge Bernardino received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Coimbra in 2002. He is currently a coordinator professor with the Polytechnic University of Coimbra - ISEC (Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra), Portugal. From 2005 to 2010, he was president of ISEC. In 2014, he was a visiting professor at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA. From 2017 to 2019, he was also president of the ISEC Scientific Council. He was the director of the Applied Research Institute (i2A), Polytechnic University of Coimbra, from 2019 to 2021. Ricardo da S. Torres is a Professor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Wageningen University and Research. Dr. Torres held the position of Professor in Visual Computing at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2019 to 2024. He used to hold a position as Professor at the University of Campinas, Brazil (2005 - 2019). Dr. Torres received a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil, in 2000, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at the same university in 2004. Dr. Torres has been developing multidisciplinary eScience research projects that involve mu ltimedia analysis, Multimedia Retrieval, Machine Learning, Databases, and Information Visualization. Dr. Torres is an author/co-author of more than 200 articles in refereed journals and conferences and serves as a PC member for several international and national conferences. David Aveiro is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering at the University of Madeira (UMa) in Portugal. His research interests include enterprise engineering and digital innovation. He teaches subjects in undergraduate and master degrees in informatics engineering in the areas of enterprise engineering, information systems, database management systems and decision support systems. David holds a Master's and Doctor's degree in Informatics Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon and coordinates several European and national funded research and digital innovation projects, both at the University of Madeira and at the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI). ...
