ENABLING SEMANTIC ECOSYSTEMS AMONG HETEROGENEOUS COGNITIVE NETWORKS

Abstract: Cognitive Networks working on large scale are object of an increasing interest by both the scientific and the commercial point of view in the context of several environments and domains. The natural convergence point for these heterogeneous disciplines is the need of a strong advanced technologic support that enables the generation of distributed observations on large scale as well as the intelligent process of obtained information. An approach based on the Semantic Sensor Web could be the key issue for enabling semantic ecosystems among heterogeneous Cognitive Networks.

Title:

A REFINING METHOD OF OBTAINED ATTRIBUTES TO CHARACTERIZE UNDEFINED CONCEPTS USING SEARCH ENGINE

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a method to resolve problems of the attributes obtaining method using WWW search engine characterizing undefined concepts, which do not exist in Concept-base. Concept-base is an key database constituting Word Association Mechanism to perform commonsense judgment. Concept-base was constructed automatically by electronic dictionaries and newspapers. Therefore Concept-base has about 120,000 statically defined concepts. Nevertheless, it has no effective learning system. This paper proposes a method to make Concept-base to learn concepts dynamically using Auto Feedback system. In addition, a removal method of noise at-tributes is also proposed. We present attributes refinement method that paid attention to changing with time of the Internet. Furthermore, we inspect the effectiveness by an evaluation experiment.

Title:

FUNCTIONAL INTEGRATION FOR THE OBSERVATION WEB

Abstract: The integration of sensor-based information has been a research topic for many years. International standards, such as the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) suite of specifications that will soon be released in its second version, have been developed, and major syntactical and structural challenges have been overcome. Solutions for addressing semantic aspects of interoperability have been suggested, but mature applications are still missing. The advent of user generated content for the geospatial domain, Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), which can be considered as readings of virtual sensors, makes it even more difficult to establish formal systems for the combination of information that is based on heterogeneous sensing methods. This paper proposes a novel approach of integrating conventional sensor information and VGI, which is exploited in the context of detecting forest fire events. In contrast to common logic-based semantic descriptions, we present a formal system using algebraic specifications as a more elegant, illustrative and straight forward solution.

SEMANTIC INTERFACE FOR RESOURCE CONSTRAINED WIRELESS SENSORS

Abstract: In this paper, a functional implementation of a semantic interface for a resource constrained, battery operated wireless sensor is presented. The concept is demonstrated by a home greenhouse application where the semantic interface is applied to moisture sensors which are connected to a database. The solution is based on M3 architecture for Smart Spaces. The paper discusses the enabling technologies that make the semantic messaging more viable for resource constrained devices. Performance figures concerning power consumption, battery duration and memory consumption are presented along with ideas for further development.

Abstract: Web 2.0 is a term, which is increasingly established in recent years in the media landscape, and the development of the digital knowledge society has permanently changed: The Internet is no longer just pure information medium, but an interactive platform on which the user is paramount.The Companies have realized in recent years that knowledge management (KM) plays an important role in the success of their business. Today is the ability to deal strategically with the knowledge and intelligence, become a success factor for companies that are dependent for their survival, effectively, efficiently and continuously generate innovation. Therefore the company must have deep knowledge about their customers and their needs. It is possible to know better the customer's pursuits, and to deepen the relationship between the customer and the company.Social media is a great way for the companies to communicate with its customers. It has allowed the communication between them like never before as they discuss about products and their likes/dislikes on social media channels.In this Paper we will examine how can social software (e.g. Wikis, Weblogs, Facebook, Xing, Twitter, etc.) as useful tools for knowledge management and what are the opportunities and Challenges with the use of social software for knowledge management in marketing.
